The ClockWise® Relay Race Game is a fast-paced running race, which
also happens to teach a fantastic amount of essential math skills. The class
splits into teams of 4-6. A player rolls huge foam dice until getting a prime
number (primes are essential to know for reducing fractions). Then he/she runs
up to the table, which is covered with a black cloth with a clock in its
center. The player picks up one of the 48 fluorescent cards and places it in
its relative position on the clock. The game focuses on team spirit,
collaboration, speed and accuracy, and TONS of fun!! After just one game
players can
compare fractions, convert fractions to decimals, solve
pie-chart problems, change inches to decimals of a foot, connect any month with
its percent of the year, and estimate any angle the moment they look at it.
The ClockWise Relay Race Game has been enjoyed by students from second grade
through middle school, and can be altered to focus on specific fractions,
decimals, percents or degrees, or any combination of these. Use the game with
only the degrees cards for a quick and invigorating review during a lesson
about geometry. This game is a perfect complement to the ClockWise
